Dave Meltzer reports that former UFC Heavyweight Champion Josh Barnett will be wrestling for TNA Impact Wrestling. Barnett made his debut at tonight’s tapings, and is expected to feud with Bobby Lashley, another wrestler with a MMA record.

Josh Barnett was a student of the late great Billy Robinson, and headlined a Wrestling World show (now called Wrestle Kingdom) for New Japan Pro Wrestling in his debut match. He would go on to wrestle dozens of matches for New Japan in the following years, as well as appear for Antonio Inoki’s IGF Promotion.

Barnett held The UFC Heavyweight Championship in 2002, and still holds the record as youngest Heavyweight Champion in UFC history. He also held the Pancrase Openweight Championship.

Currently, Barnett can be heard providing commentary for New Japan Pro Wrestling on AXS TV alongside Jim Ross
