The third Star Trek film is now without a director. Roberto Orci has left the project, according to a Deadline report. No replacement has been named as of yet, but the shortlist includes Edgar Wright, best known for “Shaun Of The Dead” and “Hot Fuzz”.

Orci stepped in to direct after JJ Abrams infamously left the project to beam into the Star Wars galaxy. Orci will remain as producer for the yet untitled film. No premise for the film has been given either. Production was rumored to begin in 2015.
