Jim Crockett Promotions, 1983 – One of the most heated rivalries in all of pro wrestling was over the Mid-Atlantic Tag Team titles. Hated rulebreakers Sgt. Slaughter and Don Kernodle clashed with beloved fan-favorites Ricky Steamboat and Jay Youngblood for many months in late 1982 and early 1983. In this climactic conclusion to the feud, the teams meet within the confines of a steel cage. If Steamboat and Youngblood win, they get the titles. If they lose, they had to break up as a tag team.
